Global rental is a good place to rent/lease bucket trucks. Not sure if the are the cheapest. They are affiliated with Altec. https://www.altec.com And therefore have a national network of places to receive and return trucks. As well as national repair service.
Before you decide to rent or buy, consult your CPA and do the math with them. Some have said it is cheaper to buy but it may or may not be in the long run. IRS rules change all the time. So the tax deductions may or may not be advantageous to your particular situation. Also if you rent, you have the option to return the trucks at any time. If you buy you will stuck with unwanted trucks and/or unwanted payments if your job is suddenly terminated.
We have had several contracts that required late model and presentable equipment. Meaning, no rust of junky looking trucks. Every vehicle we have leased was in perfect compliance. Therefore if you can’t afford new or late model trucks, rent/lease is the way to go. Additionally if you are an entry level contractor, rent/lease is a way to conserve capital costs.
Bottom line, do the math with the aid of a CPA.
