Hey when you got more cable guys looking for work than you have doing work then this happens. Contractors on the west coast are having to bid what little work there is so low that it dont even seem worth it except to try to stay in business and ride out this once again era in CATV.
>Has anyone notice the sickening prices that are being offered? If all you can pay is peanuts, quit bidding peanuts. WANTED - Certification contractors who are not willing to work for substandard pay. Recently, I have rejected all offers for less than I consider adequate. The service we provide allows the MSO to turn a $35/mo sub into a $175/mo sub with HSD and Telephony like I have become. It is an extremely valuable service. To accept these .32, .34, .44 and even .60 prices is where we get offers for EXPERIENCED sweep tech for $15/hour. I start beginners out at that, that barely know the difference between a pole and the cable. Experienced techs need to make money. To pack up and move around the country to work takes a special breed of person and money. If you are interested in Certification work at prices that supercede the afforementioned, e-mail me for more information and stipulations. (-REDACTED-)
