We were asked to join a construction association just because it helped our rates out, but it was worth it because of the savings! Totally correct about getting an insurance company that has experience because otherwise your insurance will be high and the coverage incorrect. Has happened to several of our Subs, one guy had insurance that didn't cover him below grade, he is a HDD contractor and all his work is below grade! First damage he had was all on him, about $20,000 hit with a denial letter from his insurance company citing that clause, took his money but no coverage!
