A " Prime " in most cases is a larger size company with subcontractors, who have all the insurance in place as well as can afford the payment terms as well from their client. For example, we are a prime contractor for design services, and subcontract out field work when needed to stay on schedule.
Copper splicing - no help here as I have not heard of any need for it in this group at all. Our industry never used copper wires for retransmission, only for grounding.
