I have never done any Rural copper removal but I have wrecked out 2miles of copper through manholes in a downtown enviroment various size cable from 100 - 1200 pair(AT&T). We avaeraged about 1200'/day using 4 guys, digger derrick and a hog davis, lots of chains and couple of 24" bullwheels. Tip winched it to get enough of a tail and then hooked it up to the Hog Davis and give her the nuts. If it is Rural area I dont see it being in a conduit, so not sure how you would want to tackle that. I would ask the customer if they plan on recycling it, if they dont ask if it would be acceptable to to dig down a foot and just cut and bury below grade. Either way I am sure this didnt help at all Be safe out there.
