First of all you are at fault; you should have never broke the law by using another contractors 811 ticket, then you broke the law again by proceeding before the 811 ticket was clear and maybe you broke the law again by proceeding where you knew there were unlocated utilities. Another violation, beside never a good idea, was to work for a sub when it was not allowed. When you are not working for someone who is not above the law, what do you expect the outcome will be? Should you be paid for your work? Yes. Should you have walked off the job when asked to break the law? Yes again. Nuff said.
