rogue ont is one that has a laser stuck on or firing out of order. The only real way to hunt a rogue ont is to watch the BIP’s in real-time on the OLT on the PON that you are experiencing the issue on. Another tech will have to go to the optical split and pull one ONT at a time, and see when the BIP’s stop incrementing, and the ONT’s all establish telemetry.
Leave the bad ONT disconnected until you can access the premise to replace the ont or else your problem will continue as soon as you plug the fiber with the suspect ont back in.
