Having moved to the bible belt, a neighbor invited me to church. We started a discussion wherein I explained that I was contemplating seeking out a Buddhist temple in the area.
With that he questioned that I was only contemplating seeking a temple, he asked "Begging your pardon, what religion have you practiced?"
I replied "I've been a fledgling Buddhist for 35 years, I believe there's good in all folks. But so far as evidence shows me, the majority of folks would make good fertilizer."
He replied "Sad to say I think you're more right than wrong."
He's not a Baptist, so he's been drinking my wine now & again. Seems to be a good neighbor so far.
