Had similar situation with one of my AP40's ended up being bad wires in the harness as they roll through the Cat-Track it was making and breaking the connection. Still worked from below due to those wires are not ran through the panel in the basket go directly to the selnoids. Make Since?? This is about as much as I can help without knowing what boom you are running.
