dot is federally mandated covering all 50 states FMCSA Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration the only manipulation is the education based mentality for the area you are traveling through. you may get a great guy you may get the one you did not expect. Just do whats safe Its your pay check VS prophet and if the truck is over 26k or the trailer is over 10k its the drivers problem for not reading the rules. If you sign on as a contractor and use there equipment some days you are lucky some days you get hung, and it takes 5 years before its off your leicense or dot csa score costing you money across the board
