Do you really have to ask? Buried drops are the most expensive and time consuming per foot cost of any part of OSP.
Do your math.....$120/1000'=$0.12 per foot and at best case $120/300'=$0.40 per foot. That is less than good rural plowing. Don't forget with drops, your chance of home owner contact is much greater than placing mainline. If you bore the drops in a large percentage will have multiple set-ups of the machine. Also you have to consider drive ways, sidewalks, water sprinklers, landscape walls, perfect yards, fences, septic systems, hidden buried objects, and a multitude of unlocated home owner buried "stuff". Every drop needs a "One call" rather then blocks or miles. I could go on but if you don't the picture by now, have at it.
