Do you have the work to keep a splicer full time if not you will have to find them other work when you don't have it. I know very few splicer who will dig holes or climb poles. Most testing these days needs a helper which is no big deal but something ya need to think about. Even the big boys have trouble finding splicers that will do the job and stick around. I was a lineman then a coax splicer and I find fiber splicers a little on the high maintenance side. Your best bet would be find a retired in-house guy from like att Centrylink frontier. Have them train one if your best and brightest ya have in the field now.
