Unless you are getting prime rates, the contractor rate generally doesn't leave you room to make much money. We do FTTH and even paying our guys a salary plus a per-job-closed rate, unless you are working yourself, the amount you make would be minimum in a cable or phone market. You could probably find people to do the work for slave labor prices but you'll end up going through a ton of guys. You also have to babysit. Unless you are there pushing, I have found it's the only way they will produce the numbers you will need to stay afloat. Good luck
