Federal law: call 811 nationwide before you dig, wait your required time limit for them to get out and location "Any Existing Buried Lines"...carry a camera, take picture of each of your runs showing location marks. If you hit something that is not located....IT IS NOT YOUR COST TO MAKE REPAIRS !! Years and Years ago, we just plow/trench through the lines, as fixing them was pretty cheap, however today that won't work, you cut a fiber line better hope it was mis locate/mark...BIG BIG Bucks. Film you runs prior to placing anything in the ground. Yes it does help to carry a locator..but that is no part of your description of work responsiblitiy
