It needs to be scanned, the flashing light tells you something broke, as said, it could be a wire, it could be a hard part.
It might be hard to find a decent shop with a scanner that old, I had a hell of a time on mine.
It ended up being easy to troubleshoot, the fluid started cooking, so didn't need it scanned, it went away quickly.
Since your's is fairly fresh, it could be something easy?? Mine had 175,000 miles mostly towing, so she was done.
