savannah is mixed ,some clay but not in too many areas but most areas has shells in dirt ,sometimes hard as rock but our project few years back went pretty easy with no major problems.south carolina is mostly sand just like Destin and surronding areas where i used to work,it is sand all the way up to yemassee or orangburg county ,however i was in greenwood and greenville south carolina and it was like georgia clay but havent had a rock issues anywhere in both areas.I worked in Huntsville for short time years ago and i dont think u will have any issues like Huntsville unless you are in north part of georgia or all the way north of south carolina.
