pretty easy if your just doing butt splicing. if its an old market who lets anyone and there mother splice than you will have a hard time. here in portland pretty much everything on the comcast side is absolute trash. you need to have patience and a mind for troubleshooting as you can get into situations with backfeeding for muxes and 8 or more laterals running off a small feed cable. poor documentation is also something to look at.... if someone built a case like shit and you are doing a day smop and break a live fiber because it was caught on something and you didnt notice it could very well cost you your job. I personally love fiber splicing and enjoy a challenge.
typically ive seen starting wage around $16/hr for absolute noob and upwards of $32/hr for a very very experianced splicer.
