WHEN YOU INGAGE THE STARTER SWITCH POWER TO THE INGEN. SYSTEM [AND FUEL PUMP AND CHOCK , ETC.] COMES FROM THE BATTERY , WHEN RELEASTED POWER COMES FROM ONAN [MAGNETO WE CALLED IT IN OLD DAYS] DC VOLTAGE SIDE. MY 1987 USED POINTS SO I AM NOT SURE IF ''DAM'' CIRCKET BOARD IS THE TROUBLE. MINE DID THIS WHEN A TWO STAGE RESISTER THAT MOUNTED JUST UNDER THE BRUSHS COVER BURNED UP. MINE STILL RUNS GREAT WITH A LOT LESS TROUBLE THEN THE NEWER CIRKET BOARD TYPE. THERE IS AN INTERNET FORUMN , I THINK , CALLED smokstak.com WITH A LOT OF GOOD INFO ON ONANS. I HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK . TOOK ME MANY YEARS TO LEARN ABOUT ONANS THERE NOT LIKE CAR OR LAWN MOWER MOTORS AND BEWARE OF HOT WIRING IF YOUR NOT SURE .
