I have used a variety of splicers over the years, which "throw away and buy a new one's" are you talking about?
The fitel series are good, Fuji reigns supreme but I have used Inno's effectively. The CA-3 that FIS sells might be my favorite splicer overall..its a small 60s to me. I have 2 Sumitomo QH201e-VS splicers I picked up for a 3k that I enjoy using doing installs in BAU work, its small and lightweight, simple design.
What price range are you looking, new/used, maybe I can give you a suggestion.
