If the customers stop paying it forces the companies to act. That is why picket lines do work when we all stand together. That is why the phone guys have been treated better, in pay, benefits, hours, and just overall treatment vs us cable dogs for decades.
The company and the share holders cant stand to lose end users by a prolonged strike. They must negoiate with the workers quickly to resolve it. If people step in and cross that picket line us the workers lose any power.
If you support crossing a picket line I certainly dont want anyone doing scab work or supporting those that do to be on this site complaining about the rates, or treatment. Since you would be contributing to that problem.
