WE HAD THE SAME TROUBLE MAYBE 10-15 YEARS AGO FOR US COOPER SPLICERS. LOW BALL PRICES AND LACK OF WORK SO MOST GUYS WENT INTO TRUCK DRIVING AND NEVER CAME BACK. ME AND A FEW OTHERS MANAGED TO SCRAP BY FOR TWO OR SO YEARS WORKING OUT OF STATE WITH JUST ENOUGH LEFT FOR AN OK PROFIT. WHEN WORK PICKED UP WE WERE SITTING PREETY GOOD BECAUSE THERE WAS MORE GOOD PAYING JOBS THEN TELEPHONE SPLICERS. AFTER 35 YEARS OF DOING IT IT SEEMS TO RUN IN 11 YEAR CYCLES. I RETIRED LAST YEAR SO THIS MAY HELP YOU YOUNGER GUYS. MY ADVICE IS SAVE DURING THE GOOD YEARS TO SERVISE THE BAD, JUST WISH I DID BACK THEN , LOL. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN , YOU ONLY GO AROUND ONCE .
