I also work for an mso. We tested these in my markets because they were using them in a neighboring state and said they fixed all their level variance issues. We found that the simple act of hitting every agc station and actually setting it up (or even better, sweeping it!) resolved level variance issues. So we concluded that the reason these things worked was that the act of installing them forced people to set their stuff up, thus fixing most level variance issues.  But then again, we never really ever stopped sweeping in my areas so level variance was never a big problem to begin with. I feel like all the old timers will agree that sweeping the plant is pretty much the most important thing you can do besides noise mitigation. But hey, if these things work for you, good for you. Personally I love that you have to carry around a separate dongle to configure them. Who the hell calls something a dongle. “Hey Jim, hold my dongle while I hook this pole”
