Re: Anyone travel to MN for traps a month ago?

Do your research. Look up his add and see if they would be "inviting" or "welcoming" as a new tech. Maybe you know the guy or maybe you don't but word of mouth travels fast and is more reliable than an add. Second, look at the adds and see if anything looks odd. Currently, (not mentioning any names or blasting him) he's offering work in a couple fiber areas and placing the exact same add for both locations. He's not the prime and the rates he's offering are incorrect so that should be a red flag. In the N.E location he states he's paying for a tripple play but there is no tripple play. It's for Consolidated communictions and it's only internet and phone. Second red flag, he mixed one add with the next instead of independantly placing adds for each particular location.  He still not the Prime in the N.E. so I am currious what he's truly paying. Next, he hasn't even set foot on the ground in that location so how does he know anything about it? There are no Hotels near by so is he going to make you commute to the nearest tow? Is he going to provide housing and pay deduct it?  he list a googel number in each of his locations so he doesn't have to answer the phone. maybe thats good or maybe it's not. I would think that a technician would want to know how to reach the owner or project mansger if he did have questions rather than screening calls weather he wanter to answer the call or not. Another red flag is his company....... google his company. It shows a web site listed in VA but has not physical loaction or registered business or agents in that state uder that legal name. He states his company is from another state but doesnt give you any information as to why he shows it listed in VA. Finally, if you can find the add where he list the price sheets you will see almost 50 codes. This is not the case in the N.E. We are the Prime in NY, We have three billing codes.......Drop, NID and modem with each paying 100. Your typical install will take 2 hours or less and is 2-300 depending if you have to hang a drop. We have housing locally and we are working on additional housing as techs come in through local rentals and ABB....... The project is starting slow so we are bringing in techs slowly. As the project get ramped up to full steam, we will only have the best of the best. If you've even worked in the N.E during the winter then you're aware it's no picnic......  Even with that techs should still be able to clear 3-4 jobs daily with 2-300 per job. If you happen to get stuck on a job and can' get it done then we have a default code which will be used instead so you'll default to hourly at 50/hr. We don't see this happening too often but you never know what mother nature brings.....We are not doing corp-to-corp so please don't ask. If you are a qaulity tech then you will get the best rates and the best work. There is no middle man taking a chunk so you get the best rates. With that being said, we are weeding through many to find the few. We will be reposting an add in the next day or two with some revisions to an earlier add.....

It's unfortunate that too many techs find things that make the project fit them and often moe times than not, the tech gets the short end of the stick. Find something you can slide into that will fit you and not the other way around.... There are companies out there that believe the tech deserves to be treated and paid fairly. getting nickel and dimed or not paid at all should be the last thing you have to deal with...... Goofd luck
