we were using swag loops under clamp back in 1965. When I worked for Jerrold, I had a system in Indiana that I had to measure the expansion and contraction of lashing wire on the coax. This was the lead into using the flat bottom loops. Coax expand/contract up to 1", the flat stays where it is, the sides of the loop move back and forth. The loop that everyone uses today..to be made with template..not by hand. The best expansion loop you can have is a span properly sagged. You got the strand moving in the heat/cold but the coax does not move the same...it's all a guessing game.
Keep safe: Microman
bending board=coax
