Re: Cable permitting

There is no simple answer to your broad question. What kind of permits?  State, County,City, Corp of Engineers, Rail Road, pole use, home owners association, etc. They are all different. Most have forms to fill out but some don’t. Some require fees others don’t. Some have personalities you need to deal with. Some don’t care and sign off without even looking. Some take months to get others take a phone call. 
IMHO I would work for someone before jumping into it yourself.
I have been in this business so long, rocks were soft when I started.
