had one guy at BellAtlantic, young guy, cut out about 20 feet up. He scarred and splintered his entire inner thighs. Both of them. Was out for weeks. needless to say, His climbing days were over that day. Fear.  I think fear from the younger generation, and knee problems from the older pioneers from gaffing for so long, played a major part in the phase out of gaffing. Plus, the college grads , who these companies make managers, never gaffed a pole in there life! They fear it, just looking at a tech do it. But yes, the industry has changed almost fully in that regard. Gaffing
