Its just business. As long as there are people fighting to do the work, why wouldn't they. Guess what, in the future if they are still getting the work done like they want, it will probably happen again. Its not personal its just business.
Labor is usually the first place to try and cut over head. And my dad told my 25 years ago people only pay so much on labor and its the first place to save money. They have just reestablished the value they place of your (or our) labor.
This is where you decide what needs to take place on your side of the relationship.
