It has not changed over the last 50 years...Know the state you want to work in, locate the company you want to work for, find out who is in charge of construction, present them with your reference, safe records, insurance coverage,equipment list, bank reference, take them to lunch, invest in their retirement plan, have a boat/plane/motorcycle and summer/winter get away cabin they can use for a couple weeks, maybe some tickeys to concert of their choice, some petty gifts for their desk....Etc...Etc.... Then if you do get on the bid list after all the above...You gotta bid using rates like we got in the 80s.
