Ed's right, the business is cyclic and when it s good a bunch of people jump on the wagon. Right now they are all still along for the ride, keeping more supply than demand for labor. Comcast has kicked off its Node + 0 project and it will take a year or two for everyone start their upgrdes too.
Your choices are to take what they are offering, go inhouse, find something else to do until then or just get out.
