We definitely did a lot of work in Chicago.
One shop was above a dental office, I remember carrying all the stuff up & down the damn stairs, you don't forget that.
Then we had a shop that was mob controlled. I believe Doug took a long term lease then we left and he was too worried to tell them we wanted to break the lease, so they just paid for an empty shop.
We also had a yard on the border with the ghetto, they broke into our buckets so much, we just left them open so we didn't have to fix the damn bin doors every week.
Bob Martin was the best supervisor I ever had.
He ran all 3 jobs I was on, Chicago, Wisconsin & Michigan.
Smart dude, and more common sense than 5 normal guys.
After 9/11 and the crash, I heard they had a stadium full of vehicles and equipment sitting down in Missouri??
They had bought a few smaller companies and got stuck with all that stuff when the work dried up.
