Couldn’t have said it better. I’ve never underbid a job. But I bid against a lot of out of business contractors that did. The example that I always use is a job that the engineers estimate was $1.2 million. Our bid was 2% over.  Another contractor bid 5% over. And the winning bid was 38% UNDER the engineers estimate.  I made money not being low bid on that one.
