I started at 18 in 1992. I started on a digger truck hooks only. We did swamp work in Florida so no need for a bucket. I took a vacation from being a lineman and became a paratrooper in the Army. Was to easy and didn't pay as well. I remember a drill Sargent asking me if I was scared of getting shot I told him no I rebuilt Detroit for Ameritech he just gave me a stupid look. I am 42 now and still doing it. I have 4 bucket trucks ranging in age from 88 to 01 and the day I have to climb 30 poles to get paid this pittance is the day I become a professional fisherman ,treasure hunter, or go hunt snakes in the glades.
