Well said! I agree the contractor / employee thing is left ambiguous intentionally. The IRS test is only that, a test. Law is something else..........and varies by state.
I got burned by a requirement to get my own worker's com insurance......even though I, as a contractor, could NOT be covered by it. For reasons I never understood the Maryland Workers Fund hounded me for years after I had ceases operation. I figured that if you stop sending in premiums that would end their interest........but they had a law that seemed to apply. It was a mess.
Good advice from you....all should heed it!
