Per IRS:The general rule is that an individual is an independent contractor if the payer has the right to control or direct only the result of the work and not what will be done and how it will be done.
So I have to laugh when I see ads for 1099 installers on this site that say: "if you have no experience as an installer" we will still contract with you and train in what you will do and how you will do it.
Rampant mis-classification in our industries condoned by all.
