Look I hate to say this, but fighting to be W2 over 1099 is a double-edged sword. 1099's do have, and are able to use, the added benefit of whether or not they accept their route for the day, whether or not they go to the office every day, etc etc. If you have a good supersub/owner/prime/whatever that you are contracted with, you should not have to worry about getting paid properly. Those who are trying to work towards everyone being full-time employees are obviously looking for the benefits that go along with it, but many people just want to make money in cable as a trade and many do that trade very well. It's all about who you are working for.
