It will be a while before it can all go wireless. There are not enough birds in the sky to handle the traffic and cell isn't there yet either. Cell still requires a wired/fiber connection. I see the next evolution being Pico cells on a wired connection spread every 1000' or so through the neighborhoods. We heard all the rhetoric about copper dieing 40 years ago, its still there and they keep figuring out ways to extend its life
