With much sadness I am posting about the passing of a cable TV legend, Richard G. Covell who passed this past Tuesday evening August 18, 2016 form lung cancer in the Denver, Colorado area.
Richard was a very dear friend, mentor and coleague who was one of the early cable TV pioneers. He was a very respected engineer for Texscan/Sylvania, an inductee in the SCTE Hall of Fame, Circle of Eagles, Loyal Order of the 704 and was one of the founders of the SCTE. The list of Richards accomplishments, companies and organizations in his career are endless.
When his obituary becomes available, I will post here. I have already informed the SCTE and I believe that they will have more current information as time passes.
Rest in Peace Richard and God Bless you and your family,
- Greg Tobin
