Re: aerial construction: piece work or hourly?


The way I look at it, now going on close to 31 years of owning engineering businesses, is that it is better to get paid for your effort ( per foot - per pole, etc) than your time.

If you are in an mindset of production based pay- you act on items like new tools, products, efforts, that increase your revenue in a shorter amount of time when you started, but hourly is simply a clock when it comes to being self employed......

And another item - if you decide to build a business.....my best phrase from Zig Ziglar....

"You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want."
