Back in 1981 I did the fiber run for MCI Communications..."You could hear a pin drop Promo's". It ran from Pittsburgh to Baltimore along the Railroad, my buddy did the underground, I did the aerial. We got $185-$165 per single fiber splice and we were installing 48 Fiber counts. Those were the days, no one knew anything about fiber so you had no smart ass engineer telling you what and how to do it....we told them!!!
