Re: Comcast question

I am a recently laid off Comcast Construction Administrator in Atlanta (Worked 9 yrs - laid off in recent nationwide lay off) and worked in the Construction Department (which they labeled our department under "Engineering"). I currently work for their (Comcast) Prime Contractor here.

Yes, Comcast does have several Coordinators which are actually titled as "Proj Spec2". I'm guessing they now have in Atlanta about 20 or more Coordinators between Commercial and Residential. In Commercial, they have 2 Supervisors and 1 Mng with about 10 Coordinators. Under Residential they have about the same. Their one overall "Construction Manager" for both Commercial & Residential is over the entire "Big South" Area, which consists of several states. They do use subs for design work and construction of course, but to my knowledge they had been paying a sub (Ritecom) for most Commercial surveying. They have the Residential Coordinators doing the residental ones. If you are looking for that type of work you may want to contact Ritecom. If not and you want to try In-House if a position opens...go to Comcast.com and look under "Engineering" and look specifically for Spec2 as the position for Coordinator. GOOD LUCK !!
