You can not fight a big company like Dycom on your own..you have to seek out legal help, it's the only thing they understand. If you really want them to move, just write a letter to their shareholders or attend one of their events. Your just a number to these companies,their only interest is to grow by 20% yearly, that's why they keep buying up companies..they have to grow to please their investors.
As for employee vs contractor: If they required you to report to the same place begining each day, if they directed where and how your task was to be done, if they supervised your work, if you submitted daily-weekly time reports-if they covered you with insurance-if they controlled your daily activities....YOUR AN EMPLOYEE. Did they take taxes out of your pay check, who's truck did you drive, who paid for the fuel, was you paid for all the hour in excess of 40 for the week.
The worst they should of done is offer you a settlement...get yourself an attorney, preferrable one that practices in Florida as that is their main office.
