It is fed from the residential 440v architecture that P.G.&E. uses. They have a main primary that runs through an area that is the 12kv transport system, it branches to a 440v primary that runs through the neghborhoods and drops down to a 220v secondary to feed the houses and businesses. We use one phase off of the 440v system for our supplies. P.G.&E. has found they can reduce the size of an outage and feed grid switch areas from differant directions much easier with this architechure.
