You should read some of the contractor requirements. You need a pretty large system in place to even talk to them. The back charges are a fact of life. You have to be prepared to walk away or bring suit if they become excessive. AND you have to decide how much back charge you are willing to eat as the contractor and how much you will pass on the your own subs.
The wholw reason the providers have contractors is that they too don't want to deal with hundreds of YOU. They want high volume low opra invoices for completed work.
