Pretty much it is a Contractor that installs satellites... I fall within that category... I install Dish, Direct, Exede, Hughes and FTA and I contract with 5 or 6 companies located in other states... their sales people make the sale and I get the install...
They send me equipment as needed (actually store a little extras just in case) and I install and send them signed contracts...
I don't have to buy excess equipment and use up my winter funds and they don't have to pay "Employee Perks"...
plus you make a bit more than working for a retailer
