If you have to ask you probably should not do it...yet.
All the major sat & cable corporations could hire techs if they wanted to. They want to skip that part and hire companies to provide some of their mechanical needs. So find a need and fill it....maybe not for the cable & sat corporations. Maybe try the purchasing departments.....they may know what contracts are coming up. Start small...build skills. You no not want to have only one customer.........esp if that customer is a major sat or cable company. They will chew you up and spit you out.
