Yup,
It was twenty years ago.......CATV sub called a 911 alert through all pagers...return to shop!
The message was one of the techs had a family emergency and could not complete his overloaded route....but went home anyway. So all techs were asked to help HIM out by taking his jobs. 


The 911 cost all at least an hour in and out of the shop.


The net result was that the sub ended up back charging all uncompleted or late jobs by anyone who took the extra work or even responded to the return to shop page. The CATV company was still pissed at the incoming bitch & complain rate but the sub got to chew on outgoing tech pay.
