Google is not why your pricing is low balled...it's the prime contractor your working for. They pull their profits off the job, you just get what is left, now if you was paid every friday, no retention, you got paid because of all their screw ups-lack of material-poor project management..it would work out for you but....
Wait it out till rates go up...man I've heard that story for some 4 ""Decades", as long as their is some type of work..some one will do it at the rate offered, your prime contractors are they ones screwing you..not google.
The cable industry is loosing subscribers by the millions, better make long term plans and move on to private telephone/power companies, or fiber in pipelines, or home land security fiber, or land sub developers..etc ...there are plenty of other opportunities out there for you, just do it-take the plunge !!
Perry contractor of Ashtabula Ohio was a google KC contractor..he just sold/auctioned off all his equipment and got out..did he get out because he made his fortune...I think not !!!
You guys are the experts in broadband construction/splicing/testing....use your experience, get a better long term job with some benefits for your family...your working for McDonald wages now..don't your family deserve more out of you than just a w/end home.
