RFoG is the way to go. Use the existing head end, place a mini node on the side of the house and tie into the existing coax. The plant costs a little more to build, but the power consumption is minor with very little maint costs. The only real issue is with the installers getting into the distro splice cases and making them look like a bowl of spaghetti.
