I use one here in Las Vegas and on 116 degrees days I still run it on low to med speed fan setting, you can get a basic version aaa battery operated for about $39.00 from Bass Pro or you can get a deluxe version like I have with a rechargable lithion ion remote battery pack that kicks ass, on a 100 degree day it will discharge 60 degree air around your neck, I paid $129.00 for mine from Battlefield Tactical supply here in Las Vegas. It is medically proven that the back of your neck controls your body comfort, they even make a unit that fits in a standard shock guard full brim hardhat. I spoke with a Las Vegas Swat team member and he showed me his gear that is fitted with the thermo plate in his body armor and helmet, the METRO Motorcycle officers wear them also.
