My view....it is a management trick to disguise the nature of the work. Putting emphasis on the points & paying only points allows the employee to work for free or cheap. As a contractor it was easy to look at zip codes and decline to drive your ass off.
An employer is obligated to pay for time in service....including driving, meetings, clean up, trouble shooting, repeat service to repair screw ups......replacement of defective equipment ........other down time like truck break down. IF you only examine the points from a compleated task all this overhead is paid by the employee; looks like theft of service to me.
